Vroom, Honk, Choo Choo.. Cooper is TWO!

Cake and decor

We celebrated my son’s 2nd birthday a few weeks ago with a “Planes, Trains, and Cars” party! That little boy loves anything that has wheels, so we knew that theme would be a hit! It was likely the last birthday party where I’ll get to pick the theme… I’m certain that next year he’ll be a very opinionated three year old! πŸ™‚

I always say I’m going to host a simple party and not go over the top, but that never happens! Once I get going, I just cant stop! But I DO make sure to do my best to keep the cost within reason! I’m mommin’ on a budget over here!

One of my FAVORITE ways to keep costs down on parties is by printing my own decorations! I love using Etsy to find decorations that fit my theme! I was able to find a print, the food labels, Happy Birthday sign, and the favor tags from there! It was the perfect way to personalize the party while keeping costs down! I also created a backdrop using streamers! We just took a curtain rod and hung it on the wall using Command Strips, then draped streamers over the rod to create a colorful patterned backdrop!

I also LOVE looking for party supplies on Amazon! Their prices just can’t be beat! I purchased plates, traffic cones, and the traffic signs you see on the table all from Amazon! https://amzn.to/2DrMbGN

With it being a transportation party, I went looking for serving dishes in the playroom! His dump trucks were perfect for serving chips and nuggets, and his airplane housed the pigs in an airplane blanket! πŸ˜‰

It was truly a wonderful day celebrating our big boy! He sure makes us proud! πŸ™‚

Comfortable, Stylish, AND affordable?! Yes please!

Being a stay at home Mama means we are a one income family. So sometimes I have to get creative when it comes to finding affordable AND stylish clothes for myself! Why is it that when shopping for my kids, I throw around hundred dollar bills like it’s nothing. But when I am in need of a new article of clothing, I start scrounging up pennies & hope I can make something out of them?!

I was always terrified to shop online for clothes for the obvious reason… you can’t try them on! But thankfully, Amazon has perfected online clothes buying! So what do you need to do to ensure you get the best fit on that little black dress you’ve had your eye on?! READ THOSE REVIEWS, GIRLFRIEND. only look at items that have four or more stars. Then, read the reviews if you were people say about how it fit. You will see a trend. If the item one big, almost every review woman for that! If you are curvy, look for someone who went to review that is creepy! With the how they describe a body repair yours! I promised if you do your research in the reviews section, you can end up buying something for yourself it fits like a glove! So treat yourself, Mama! You deserve it!

Here’s one of my FAVORITE Amazon dress purchases! It was perfect for family pics! Link to purchase under the pic!

The Bean Bag that saved my sanity!

You see that sweet little girl in the photo down there?? She has acquired about 1,437,568,980 stuffed animals in her 5 years of life. Up until recently, I DESPISED stuffed animals. They were everywhere!!! I couldn’t walk into her bedroom without feeling all of their beady little eyes staring at me (creepers!).

Thankfully, my dear friend Kennah told me about this cute and AFFORDABLE way to contain the stuffies!! This canvas bean bag chair is holding a sleeping bag, a queen sized comforter, PLUS about 40 stuffed animals! 😱 Say what?! Yes, it’s true! You can actually see her floor! No more tripping over Winnie the Pooh! The stuffies are kept safe & sound in the bean bag, making a comfy place to sit in the playroom! But when my daughter needs a cuddle, she just reaches in & grabs her cuddle-buddy of choice! Win-win! Grab you one here! πŸ˜ƒ
